Artak Tovmasyan met with RA Ambassador in Lebanon Vahagn Atabekyan

An explosion in the Lebanese capital Beirut on 4 August led to irreversible consequences for the local population leaving thousands of local residents homeless, including our compatriots of the huge Armenian Community living in Beirut.

The Tovmasyan Charity Foundation has organized enormous help for the Armenian community, impacted because of the explosion happened in Lebanon, Beirut.

Collected 120 donation boxes with the weight of 1 ton included food, clothes and goods of prime necessities.

The aid was delivered to Beirut by Artak Tovmasyan, chairman of the board of trustees of the Tovmasyan foundation.

The donations were transferred to the Joint Commission for the Reconstruction of Lebanon, which operates under the auspices of the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I and is headed by the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon. The organization includes the leaders of three denominations of the Lebanese Armenian community, leaders of three political parties and leaders of three charitable organizations. The received support will be distributed equally to fully achieve targeted goals.

During his visit to Beirut, Artak Tovmasyan met with the RA Ambassador of Lebanon Vahagn Atabekyan. Were discussed the results of the visit and the support provided for the Lebanese Armenians. The ambassador conveyed words of gratitude for the activities of the Foundation and for the enormous help to the Community.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed prospects for further cooperation aimed at restoring the life of Armenian Community in Beirut. The Tovmasyan Foundation is planning to open a special bank account, through which all the money raised will be used to help Lebanese-Armenians impacted because of the explosion.

Earlier, on May 2nd The Tovmasyan Foundation started an international marathon “Together We Can”. More than 120 stars joined the initiative from 4 continents!
