ԱՄՆ Սենատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նորընտիր նախագահ, դեմոկրատ Բեն Քարդինի գրասենյակն այսօր տարածել է սենատորի հայտարարությունը՝ կապված Ադրբեջանին ու Հայաստանին ամերիկյան` ներառյալ ռազմական օգնության տրամադրման մասին, հայտնում է «Ամերիկայի ձայնը»։

Հայտարարության մեջ, մասնավորապես, ասված է. «Այսօր ԱՄՆ սենատոր Բեն Քարդինը` Սենատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահը, հանդես է եկել հետևյալ հայտարարությամբ՝ Հայաստանին աջակցություն ցուցաբերելու և Ադրբեջանի հետ ռազմական օգնության և անվտանգության ոլորտում համագործակցության վերագնահատման անհրաժեշտության վերաբերյալ:

«Մոտ մեկ տարվա սարսափելի շրջափակումից հետո նախագահ Ալիևը ի վերջո ռազմական ուժ կիրառեց` Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի շրջանի նկատմամբ վերահսկողություն հաստատելու համար՝ փաստացի վերացնելով այնտեղից [Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի] հայ բնակչությանը և [տեղի] հարուստ պատմությունը: Աշխարհը շարունակում է պայքարել Ադրբեջանի կողմից էթնիկ զտումների համակարգված, միտումնավոր արշավի դեմ: Պետք է առաջնահերթություն տանք տեղահանված հայերին աջակցելուն, ինչպես նաև Ադրբեջանին պատասխանատվության ենթարկելուն:

Առաջ շարժվելով՝ պետք է քայլեր ձեռնարկենք՝ երաշխավորելու, որ Ադրբեջանը ռազմական առավելություն չստանա` տարածքային նվաճումների նպատակով: Սա ներառում է նաև ռազմատենչ հռետորաբանության դատապարտումը: Միացյալ Նահանգները պետք է դադարեցնի անվտանգության ոլորտում Ադրբեջանին տրամադրվող օգնությունը, քանի դեռ այն չի դադարեցրել այս դաժան արշավը։ Միացյալ Նահանգներն ու միջազգային հանրությունը նաև պետք է վերահաստատեն հանձնառությունը ռազմական հանցագործությունների և վայրագությունների փաստագրմանը, ինչպես նաև շարունակեն աջակցել ռազմագերիների ազատ արձագման ջանքերին, որոնցից շատերին Ադրբեջանը շարունակում է պահել կալանքի տակ:

Վերջապես, մենք պետք է մեր համերաշխությունը հայտնենք հայ ժողովրդին, հատկապես, երբ Ադրբեջանը և Թուրքիան ուշադրություն են սևեռել Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի հնարավոր բացման ուղղությամբ։ Պետք է մեծացնենք մարդասիրական աջակցությունն այն էթնիկ հայերին, ովքեր լքել են Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը։ ԱՄՆ-ը նաև պետք է շարունակի աջակցել ժողովրդավարական բարեփոխումներին, որոնք Հայաստանի ղեկավարությունն ձեռնարկել է նախորդ տարիներին, ներառյալ այն ջանքերը, որոնք միտված են թափանցիկության խթանմանը, արդյունավետ կառավարմանը և ավելի լայնորեն Միացյալ Նահանգների ու Արևմտյան Եվրոպայի հետ տնտեսական համագործակցությանը»»։
