S. Sukiasyan: Our goal is to support the relocation issue

Armeconombank representatives have meetings with various organizations operating in Armenia and abroad and discuss the possibilities of relocation of Armenians in Armenia.

Hraparak asked several questions to the Chairman of Armeconombank Board regarding the issue. S. Sukiasyan responded to the question concerning the kind of initiative: “Armeconombank is developing a program aimed at improving the demographic situation in Armenia, which is deteriorating day by day. We still have issues to be clarified in terms of structure, but corresponding works are underway. However, it should be noted that a specific relocation program was not discussed. The issue that some of our compatriots who emigrated to Armenia want to return, but do not have financial resources to do so was discussed during the meetings. Such people do not even have money for ticket. We are also discussing the possibilities for creating mechanisms to support repatriation”.

S. Sukiasyan, in answer to the statement that they will try to credit the return of Armenians, said. "It is not clear yet, because many of them have burned all bridges by leaving". S. Sukiasyan did not specify the organizations the meetings are held with. S. Sukiasyan, in answer to the question whether this initiative is based on identification, said: “Like in other areas, we have a problem here as well. The existing demographic problem has become a national security concern for us. The basis of our initiative is not to identify the shortcomings of the state system, but to actively support the solution of the relocation issue”.
