«Հայ Ազգային կոնգրեսը» հայտարարություն է տարածել, որում ասվում է.

«ԱԺ պատգամավոր Հակոբ Ասլանյանի հետ միջադեպի մասնակից Սամվել Վարդանյանի նկատմամբ իրավապահ մարմինների կատարած գործողությունները հնարավոր չէ այլ կերպ բնութագրել, քան իշխանության ամենավերին օղակներից հրահանգված արտադատարանական հաշվեհարդար։

Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի ռեժիմի այս վերջին գործողությունը, մարդու երեսին ԱԺ նախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանի թքելու ամոթալի պատմությունը, քաղաքական հակառակորդներին բռնաճնշումներով եւ ապօրինի քրեական հետապնդումներով լռեցնելու վերջերս հաստատված պրակտիկան, նույն մեթոդներով ՏԻՄ մարմիններում ընդդիմության կողմից ձեւավորված իշխանության յուրացումը ցույց են տալիս Հայաստանի ներկա իշխանությունների բացահայտ արհամարհանքը մարդու իրավունքների եւ արժանապատվության, խոսքի ազատության եւ ժողովրդավարության հիմնարար նորմերի նկատմամբ։

Իշխանություններն, ըստ էության, ցուցադրում են, որ ընտրել են ժողովրդավարության կազմաքանդման եւ ավտորիտարիզմի վերահաստատման ուղին եւ պատրաստ են ամեն օր հատել նորանոր կարմիր գծեր։

Գնահատելով կատարվածը որպես վտանգավոր սահմանի հատում, Հայ Ազգային Կոնգրեսը կոչ է անում ժողովրդավարական արժեքներին հավատարիմ քաղաքացիներին, հասարակական կազմակերպություններին եւ քաղաքական ուժերին վճռականորեն ընդվզել եւ դիմակայել երկրում բռնատիրական կարգերը վերականգնելու Փաշինյանի ռեժիմի բացահայտ փորձերին։

Սամվել Վարդանյանի գործի վերաբերյալ մենք նաեւ պահանջում ենք Գլխավոր դատախազից՝ կատարել օրենքի եւ ժողովրդավարության պաշտպանության հետ կապված սահմանադրական պարտավորությունները, բացահայտել ու պատժել մարդու իրավունքները եւ արժանապատվությունը ոտնահարող այս արտադատարանական հաշվեհարդարի պատվիրատուներին եւ կատարողներին»:
